Man in Chains at the Promenade


The Promenade is a street in Santa Monica where creativity blossoms. It is blocked off from cars so that street performers can put on shows where the cars would have been driving. This performer was tying himself up in chains so as to escape from them in a mere 60 seconds while standing inside a big bag that covered his body. People breakdance, play instruments, sing, and be mimes. One very absurd site is an old man who plays a small drum set that looks like a toy and sings in a voice that doesn't let you understand his words. He is not extremely musically pleasing, but thanks be to the promenade inventors that he has somewhere to perform.-Marg
